As the weather cools down and the festivities kick into gear, the city of Dubai comes alive during December to celebrate the Christmas season. Here are five of our favourite festive activities to get you ready for Santa.

Visit a Winter Market at Ski Dubai

Dreaming of a white Christmas? Head to Ski Dubai where a plethora of festive activities awaits. The whole family can meet Santa and his merry elves at his grotto and sip on signature hot chocolate, while the little ones get a gift and a photo with the big man in red. You can also do breakfast with Santa on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday morning (8 to 10am) from December 1 to 24.

Festive Dine-Around at Atlantis the Palm

For those spending Christmas in Dubai, Atlantis, The Palm’s fabulously festive dine around returns on December 9, inviting guests to indulge in the gourmet flavours of 10 of its top restaurants, coupled with free-flowing beverages and top-class entertainment. Alongside an array of dishes from Atlantis’ best-loved dishes, guests can look forward to spellbinding performances, gravity-defying stunts and elaborate costumes, including an underwater Santa’s grotto in The Lost Chambers Aquarium, live music and DJ’s in all restaurants as well as magicians and Santa’s dancing elves. 7pm to 11pm, Thursday December 9, from AED 505. atlantis.com/dubai

Make a Wreath at Pangolin

Join The Pangolin for an intimate, festive evening of drinks and light bites while marking the start of the festive period with a wreath making workshop on December 13. The workshop will include a thorough tutorial to make your own 25cm scandi style half wreath design. The wreath will be constructed with high quality faux and dried florals for an everlasting sustainable style which guests can take home. 7pm to 9pm, Monday December 13, AED 375 including three drinks and a food platter, The Pangolin Restaurant & Lounge.

The Bab Al Shams Christmas Market

Celebrate Christmas in Dubai desert resort Bab Al Shams, which will be transforming into a festive market from December 10 to 21, with fun for all the family at the 12-day event. From 6pm to 10pm each day, visitors will be able to marvel at a 40 foot Christmas tree, sing along to carol concerts at 6.30pm and shop for an array of gifts from a number of stalls. Mulled wine, hot chocolates and festive food will also be available on the stalls, or guests can opt for the Christmas-themed buffet at Al Forsan restaurant, served each day at 7pm. Tickets are priced at AED 50 for children, including a meet and greet with Santa and a gift and AED 50 for adults, including mulled grapes, hot chocolate and festive sweet treats. Tree lighting at Address Beach Resort

There will be a dazzling Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Dubai at Address Beach Resort this December. The elevated event will take place in the resort’s stunning lobby space where you and your nearest and dearest can sing along with the choir who will perform jubilant carols. There will also be complimentary festive drinks and Christmas cookies to graze on whilst you soak up the magical moments. It is set to be an evening to remember so be sure to capture this special occasion on camera from Address Beach Resort’s terrace, where breathtaking views of Ain Dubai and The Beach can be admired.
